We asked them about what to expect from new album and EP, read the little natter below.

BEAT: How are you?

Niki and the Dove: We had a wonderful sleep in Carlisle after a show in Glasgow (great audience!) last night, so we are perfectly fine, thanks.

 

BEAT: What are you up to right now?

Niki and the Dove: Riding in the van to London for a show. Supporting Hurts at Brixton Academy.

 

BEAT: Where are you?

Niki and the Dove: In the van.

 

BEAT: What are you wearing?

Niki and the Dove: Clothes, strangely enough.

 

 

BEAT: How's the album coming along?

 

Niki and the Dove: Quite good. After doing some additional production in Sweden in november, we will mix it. It will be released in may next year.

BEAT: What can we expect from it and the new EP?

Niki and the Dove: The album will be a kind of patchwork. When you listen to each song it will sound quite different from one and another but if you zoom out hopefully you will see some kind of pattern.

BEAT: What are your top five fave things about Stockholm?

Niki and the Dove:

The light.
The water.
The buildings.
The weather.
The parks.

 

BEAT: Can you tell us a secret about Niki and The Dove?

Niki and the Dove: No. In that case it wouldn´t be a secret.

BEAT: What are your crowds like?

Niki and the Dove: The audience we met have been very welcoming (is that a word in the english language?) and warm and friendly. Thanks everyone out there!

BEAT: Have there been any albums this year you've been blown away by?

Gustaf: the new Loney Dear album.
Malin: I´ve been blown away not by an album but by a song by Zola Jesus and another song by Beth Ditto.

 

 

BEAT: What's been the best show you've ever played?

Niki and the Dove: We had a great time in Cardiff at the SWN festival where we had the time to do some improvisation. (It was crazy hot on stage). But there had been some very fun times at a lot of places.

 

BEAT: Lastly, what was the last really embarrassing thing you did?

Niki and the Dove: Too embarrasing to mention.
