It’s taken Stockholm-based musician Gustav Jennefors aka the one and only King Borneo a full five years to finally release his new EP. Lead track ‘It Doesn’t Matter Now’ finds Jennefors switching his signature psychedelic sound for a more folk-pop vibe that comes complete with “melancomic hooks.”
On the new five track EP you’ll find stories of cougars picking up teen boys at shopping malls, inner monologues with bouncers, while ‘It Doesn’t Matter Now’ ruminates on what we prioritize when the shit hits the fan. The track now comes with a frankly bonkers video that we’re premiering right here on the BEAT so help yourself to a first look below.
Here’s what Jennefors emailed us to say about the video:
Me and Hannes wanted to shoot the music video by ourselves and thought it would be appropriate to record it in his spider infested basement where we spend most of our time hanging out. We hired an actor to come in and play the lead role as the girl but she couldn’t breathe in the outfit so I had to reshoot some scenes, it’s pretty obvious if you look. The video’s good, the issues heavy, enjoy.
