Blondie co-founder, songwriter, guitarist and super talented photographer Chris Stein is going to be showing some shots of his Blondie bandmates as part of the band’s London pop-up shop. Incase you can’t make it to Camden between 29th April and 3rd May, here’s a lil look at some classic photographs some of which will be featured at the exhibition.
The images are lifted from Stein’s book Me, Blondie, and The Advent of Punk, (remember when he shot Sky Ferreira for BEAT!?) harking back to when he began documenting the New York downtown scene in 1968. In 1973, he met and started working with Debbie Harry in the City, a year later they formed the band Blondie with Stein becoming the in-house photographer of sorts – the rest is history!
You can pick up a copy of Stein’s book at the Camden Blondie pop-up store along with some selected prints. More info on the Blondie pop-up store feature exclusive merch with designs by Shepard Fairey over here, plus you can read Blondie’s recent BEAT cover feature in full here.
