Loom have served up some first class high adrenaline sounds on ‘Lice’ the confrontational first offering from their long awaited self-titled debut album (due out 19th May 2017 via Silent Cult Records).
The album follows Loom’s previous two cassette releases, one of which was a six-track covers EP of The Jesus Lizard, Bad Brains, Pixies, GG Allin, Misfits, and Warsaw. The band – Matt Marsh, Joshua Fitzgerald and frontman Tarik Badwan (brother of Horrors frontman Faris Badwan) – recorded half of the hotly anticipated album themselves and the other half with John Coxon at the legendary Ray Davies’ Konk studios.
The twisted ‘Lice’ video was directed by Dean Richardson from the Rattlesnakes and is premiering right here on the BEAT. Here’s what Tarik emailed us about the track slash video:
Lice directly captures our intent as a band, in a way it defines the moment all our influences came together. We were lucky enough to have Dean from the Rattlesnakes direct and produce the video too. He really understood where we’re coming from as a band, and he truly captured the power of the track. It’s powerful because of its simplicity and the video reflects that – just don’t watch it with your grandparents.
