Teenage dirtbags King Nun follow their breakout release – the totally unhinged ‘Tulip‘ – with new offering ‘Hung Around’ and we’re premiering it’s day-glo video right here.
The bands second single drops on 7th April through London label Dirty Hit, who incidentally are responsible for putting out brilliant records from the likes of Wolf Alice and The 1975. ‘Hung Around’ is pure off the rails high adrenaline spikey noise and comes with a The Day of the Triffids inspired video from Youth Hymns, that sees the boys get attacked by loads of tentacles.
King Nun frontman Theo emailed us to explain the inspo behind the video saying:
We wanted something surreal, something unhinged and violent that matched the tracks’ recording. We wanted a clear physical restriction to us as we were playing, as we had the video for our previous single: ‘Tulip’ which took the form of the tiny yellow four walled room.We went to Youth Hymns and shared these ideas. They had a rough idea with similar themes which eventually became the video we have today: a B movie-ish looking video where we’re slowly hypnotised and strangled by alien tentacles.
