The start of the year is always a mad scramble to tell the world who’s ‘The Sound of blah’, or who’s the newest X, or the latest Y. Chances are they’re usually people who have already been around for years, churning out positioning mixtapes and studying demographics. To bypass all that, here’s the final of our SIX covers featuring the Honey Hahs, three sisters, all aged between 9 and 15, who will likely break your heart in two. Read on please.
Born not that long ago in Peckham, south London, Honey Hahs are 15-year-old Rowan (guitar/vocals), 11-year-old Robin (bass/vocals) and 9-year-old Sylvie (drums/vocals). Signed by Rough Trade around Christmas last year, there will be some Steve Mackey-produced songs online real soon, with an album to follow before the end of the year. Full of scratchy, slightly broken folk charm, their music might well be the soothing balm the world needs right about now.

Once again, quite good.
There was no interview as such, we just sent them a LOLs questionnaire to fill out, which they duly did. That’s then printed on the pages as it was sent back, i.e. covered in doodles and with the boring questions crossed out. Amazing.
We’re not going to beat around the bush and try and keep things mysterious, the other people in the issue are as follows (it’s six covers featuring people we love and respect, no agenda):
We’ll be putting the other covers up this week and then peppering your broadband with the interviews after that.
